I Have Hit a Cellar Goal

With my last 4noggins order after the Chattanooga Show, I got in about 2 lbs of various tobaccos, which brings me to about 10 lbs in the cellar. I'm up to 3 lbs of CVP, 1/2 lb. Full Va Flake, 1/2 lb of Marlin Flake, 1/2 lb of Roll Cake, and many others equaling about 10lbs. Now to work on the next 10.

Congrats on that goal! Nice selections too. I am hoping to have about 8 lbs myself before year's end—I doubt I'll be able to do much better than that.

Nice going. I have just begun, and I'm up to about 3 lbs. I try to order three times my monthly use, but it's not easy keeping ahead. I making plans to build a cherry cabinet to hold my cellar. Hopefully, this winter I'll get it done.

I have approximately 10lbs right now. My goal by year end is to add another 10-15 lbs. Being in Canada this is a tricky proposition and I'll have to discipline myself to be able to reach that goal. I'm building a cellar in my cellar this fall from a large old pantry that should be able to house close to 100lbs of Baccy when all is said and done.

I've created an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my cellared tobacco. It keeps track of total weight (in lbs) and total time of consumption in years. So far I have 14.184 lbs which will last 1.653 years. My goal is 10 years. ::

Actually I think anyone who is cellaring and has a goal in mind is doing great. Lots of people have young families and have other obligations so cellaring is not a top priority. I am very fortunate to be able use a pretty good amount of disposable income to complete my cellar. 20 years ago that would not have been the case.

Harris- thanks for speaking with that kind of perspective. Sometimes we blindly enable around here- good to be wise about priorities!

Tarak, I know the enabling can get pretty intense around here so people should always only use discretionary income and make sure family comes first. All my kids college is paid for, I own my home free and clear and I never touch the principal of my investments.
If I was still dating the ladies, it would be a serious blow to my TAD and PAd. I made a decision last year that I would rather buy pipes and tobacco than spend it on woman. I am almost all done with my cellar, so I will begin to start travelling again.

Look, my cellar is basically done (except for 3 blends I want to "top off") - in a way, that is extremely sad to me. I find it extremely enjoyable to be building something like a cellar from day to day. When I'm completely done, I'm not sure what I will do with my free time, lol. My point is - working to achieve the goal can be as much or more fun as actually achieving it. Congrats.
