Damn brother, sorry to hear. My son who is 32 had it, only symptoms were loss of taste n smell for a week and just didn’t “feel right” neurologically. I guess that’s why the list of possible symptoms fills a whole page, different for everybody. Look at it this way, now you have nothing to do all day but sit on here and dole out your trademarked brand of sharp witted smartassery:)
Feel better soon!

My brother in law is one of the top neurology doc's in Chicago. He's seeing quite a few cases of neurological damage after Covid.

As for my "sharp witted smartassery" what if I lose it? What if Covid alters it? What if I become one of those guys who laughs out loud at his own jokes hoping it will prompt other people to think what I said was funny even it was just painfully cringe worthy like 99% of Samantha Bee or Trevor Noah say? What if I never really had it in the first place and it was all just a beautiful...well, maybe not beautiful but a smart ass dream? The horror...

Well, I got COVID so, rather than going to the doctors or a immediate care, I thought I'd reach out to the surest source of up to the minute, laser strike accurate information, the internet! Ha! I'm kidding. Been to multiple doctors. Here in Illinois the state calls you after you test positive. That is some outstanding HIPAA controls if you ask me.

So anyone else had this? I'm not exactly clinging to life. I just feel like I have a flu. Any tips? (And don''t say treat every medicine like a suppository for a quicker recovery, the pharmacist got me with that one last night. I wasn't easy to down a bottle of Nyquil like that!)
don't smoke until it's clear. That's my biggest advice. Even if your symptoms are mild the stuff can still give you pneumonia really quickly. Cause it basically suppresses the immune system enough to slow it down and that means it can ramp up really fast causing your bronchial tubes to leak interstitial fluid like crazy. And even a little bit of smoking mixed in with that probably won't kill you but you'll wish you just waited. And also if you get the loss of taste and smell tobacco is suddenly not so tasty. Worst part is the thing I was talking about can happen to some people afterwards and even if they were 100 percent asymptomatic. Otherwise take it easy avoid everyone you don't want to get revenge on and catch up on your reading or binge watching.

oh shit one last thing nasal snuff can be your friend if you do start having trouble breathing. At it's worse I was doing a pinch every 20 minutes and then going from can't really breath (like put six masks on to get an idea of what that was like) to coughing up an amount of phlegm that just seemed impossible (as in how the heck was there enough room in there for all that?).

It's horrible..................
I bet it is. But, how? Neurological can encompass anything from muscle aches to memory loss. The flu has always had three major manifestations/types: neurological, digestive, and respiratory. The same virus can cause any of those or two or all of them in the same patient. Everyone's affected different.

From the comments here and in the other thread, I'm gathering that this particular virus is even more dependent on what in medicine is called 'individual idiosyncrasy' than other similar pathogens.

I'm curious because, in homoeopathy, we treat based on symptoms, not on pathogens. Two persons affected by the same virus but who present different symptoms require different remedies.

Get one of those finger pulse/ox monitors.

This ^

I just had it last month and got one of those oxygen sensors. It gave me a peace of mind to be able to check it for myself. That and STAY HYDRATED.

Watch your symptoms around day 6-10 as it tends to get worse around that time frame. At least it did for me and many others report the same.

I hope you feel 100% soon.

I thought I got it, my daughter and I got real sick. Of course she recovered in 3 days and I’m still trying to get over it. I got tested for Covid and strep, was negative for both but damn it if this isn’t one of the worst bouts of the flu I’ve ever had. It’s been with me for a month now. Sorry no tips, just me bitching over here. I really want to smoke but it’s pointless, can’t taste or breathe through my nose so I’m just waiting till my damn body can fight off whatever it is that I’ve got.

Thank you all for the well wishes! My wife has it too. I'm doing fine. To me this is like an annoying flu. I'm more worried about her with her immunity issues. We're going to the hospital tomorrow for an IV medicine that is supposed to help tremendously with a speedy recovery.

I hope you feel better soon Hawky!

Water, sleep, and if it starts to feel bad make sure someone phones to check you're still alive at 3AM every morning.
Most people show minimal symptoms, but if you happen to be un-lucky it can turn on you in a hurry.
Edit: Seeing people mention the pulse monitor, that sounds like an excellent idea.
