I've seen more new pipers quit due to smoking too fast and hot than anything else.
Many claim their tobacco all tastes like hot air and their tongue is burning.
A surprising few find the proper way to enjoy a pipe.
I believe most are just looking for a quick nicotine fix to quit cigarettes.
Once you "get it", it becomes much more enjoyable.
I'm glad you figured it out!

Hi all, long time lurker who's been posting a bit lately. First I want to thank all the great active members here. ...
Yes - Yes, pipe smokers have always been a brotherhood you don't find among other interest groups often. And congratulations on your epiphanies, I assure you that there are more to follow. I was initially attracted by fine tobacco, first cigars as well.

LSMFT ~ my first smoking experience was a Lucky Strike back in about 1957. I caddied at a local golf course and while waiting to be called to go out on a loop we sat around and pitched pennies and smoked cigarettes ! Long time ago............
Thats so cool. I wish I could’ve seen the 50’s must’ve been a great time.
