I don't know what I'm tasting, but I like it.

It probably is the Smyrna, but again, not that simple. They way it interacts with the other tobaccos will change it. Try other blends with it, but don't be disappointed if the magic disappears. If you love everything with Smyrna, extra win.
Yeah, I hope it is the Smyrna. I'm smoking another bowl of Sutliff Heavy English right now and I'm loving it. I ordered a tin of John Cotton's Smyrna and an ounce of Sutliff African Queen.

The tin of John Cotton's Smyrna arrived today. I popped it open and smoked a bowl in my Savinelli Clark's Favorite. I love it! I believe it's the Smyrna I was tasting that I enjoyed so much.
My quick newbie review: When I popped open the tin I noticed the smell of leather or maybe a campfire and it is much drier than expected. I packed it, lit it up and smoked the whole bowl with no relights. It has a similar taste to the Sutliff Heavy English...floral,spicy,incense (hard to describe).
I also ordered an ounce of Sutliff African Queen which also has Smyrna. I will smoke a bowl of that tomorrow. One thing for sure...I'm going to order more JC Smyrna.
