Last week I got my Bueschers Cob down to clean the stem. As I was trying to twist the stem out it broke. I kept trying and the shank broke lose from the bowl. It's an old cob but it was a favorite. Here's the pic.

And wouldn't you know it, this morning I reached for my Stanwell 2010 Pipe of the Year. As I was wiping it down for the days smoke, it slipped from my fingers and the bowl hit the floor. This ruined my day. I was going to ask if anyone knows where I could get these pipes fixed. I'd like to fix the cob. The stanwell, to me, will never be the same though. Even if it can be fixed, I'll know it's broken, so I'll probably get a new one, if I can find one.

Well that just bites, sorry for the run of bad luck. If the stanwell can not be repaired PM Ejames He can make a super tamper out of it to go with Your new one.

What a bummer..
I'd contact Tim West with some pictures. I had a Hilson with a broken shank that I didn't think could be repaired. He told me he could, so he's got it now.
Good luck ! Hope your day gets better

Hugest bummer! If you happen to find somewhere with a few of those POTYs let e know, I missed out on them when they were available and regret it terribly.

A little Elmers wood glue will fix that cob.Clean and lightly scuff the shank and the hole in the bowl.apply a little glue (or epoxy) and let it set for a day. Tim West or any good repairman can make that Stanwell well again.

You should send the stem of that stanwell to ejames. He can make you a really cool tamper from it and that will allow you to treasure a part of the pipe and still put it to good use, then if you get another one you will have a matching pipe and tamper set. I have one of his made from an old white kaywoodie stem, it is super cool.

It's happened to us all, but that doesn't make anyone feel better. Sorry.
