Just came in from avoiding the snow and ice beginning to fall. Found a pouch worth of Sir Walter Raleigh in my drawer last night squirreled in a zip loc baggy nearly forgotten. Decided to give it another go, the first two bowls I had hit me wrong. I thought to myself if this is all I can smoke, going back to be a Marlboro man. Anyhow, loaded it for one last try last in a cob. All, I can say is I was wrong. It came out smooth and mellow with relative ease. With pipes, I'm thankful I know nothing after all.

The realization that there is much to be learned is the first

indication that indeed, something has been learned after all.

As one of my blacksmithing mentors frequently reminded me, " If you aren't making mistakes you aren't learnin' a durn thing"

I've been told the first step to knowledge of a subject is realizing what it is you need to learn.

I have been smoking pipes for more than 35 years.

I am amazed by what I don't and didn't know before becoming a member here.
