Hahahaha. Yeah that pretty much looks like a prolapsed snake anus. Which is something I didn’t wake up thinking I’d say today.

It makes me irrationally angry when I tip a pipe full of ashes onto important papers and other desk stuff. The spilling needs to end.

I've never heard of arbutus, so I'm glad to learn about it. I like the grain which looks to me like a cloud bank. I have several pipes carved of Mountain Laurel by Jerry Perry of Colfax, N.C. Mountain Laurel is another wood similar to briar with its own muted pattern of grain.

TBH, I used a belt sander to make the bottom flat, and a drill to make the the mortice, and sandpaper as well, so not entirely with the Olfa.

poor pipe. You have to put it out of it's misery. Just be quick about it. Don't tell it what's coming load it with it's favorite blend and when it's not looking pop a cap in it's chamber. You know it's the right thing to do.
