So I've ran a few bowls through the '74, and may have to rethink my animosity towards Dunhill. Not a bad pipe.

Oh ... shit! They have two Dunhills from my year of birth. Both very attractive Root Briars, one a straight pot (yeah, yeah, but I like straight pots) that's making my mouth water and my trackpad-finger itch like mad. Damn it, you guys ... damn it! 8O

So I have been running two bowls of 1792 Flake through the '74 everyday for a week. No sourness, no gurgles, just pure flavorful dry smoke. Other than a bit of stubborn oxidation in front of the button, (came like that), I can find absolutely nothing wrong with this pipe. I guess vintage Dunhills are the way to go. It has also spawned a bit of accessory buying. A western boot pipe stand, a brass cowboy hat ashtray, a pipe tool made from a .30-6 shell, and a tobacco jar made to look like an old barrel. All of the accessories were bought for exclusive use with a pipe made by a company that I fomerly despised. I have issues. :oops:
