My grandfather had two Siamese cats before he died. He lived on the edge of a small town in Louisiana and was surrounded by woods.

His Siamese would bring squirrels and rabbits and leave at his back door.
He didn't have a mouse, rat or stray dog problem either.

All 3 of my cats are indoor/outdoor cats. Only one however likes to hunt. I'm cleaning up birds, rabbits, and chipmunks on a weekly basis.

Cats take a serious toll on birds, which I also have great feeling for, but if you have a rodent problem and the right cat or cats, you don't have a problem anymore. An experienced cat hunter finds its spot and can wait in ambush for hours. They really know what they're doing. There's no guess work to it. And like I say, don't bother depriving the cat of food; the food is hunting fuel. And don't worry if the cat dozes; they hear in their sleep. They are feeding machines.

Cats, Schmats. What Frank needs is a Weatherby rifle chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum. It loves Mieces to Pieces.

Unfortunately Frank is in the hospital with severe tetanus due to cutting himself on his chipmunk trap. Chipmunks, when reached for comment, were busy changing the locks on the house.
