Hurricane Smoking

As I enjoy a pipe on the front porch, watching the trees bend, I notice that 100% humidity slows down the burn a bit.
Also, the normally small, grey ash is replaced with larger chunks of light and dark colored ash.
What are your inclement smoking observations?

I have noticed that at -50 degrees celcius it is nearly impossible to smoke a pipe, mostly because my fingers were almost frozen and I wasn't sure if I was actually holding the pipe or not.
