When my family went to Oregon in 1967, we made a brief foray into Northern California. We stopped at a ocean-beach State Park for lunch. On the way into the parking lot, we saw an official green-and-white highway-department sign posted which read:
"Hippies Permitted on Leash Only"
"Hippies Permitted on Leash Only"
I don’t know if this one in particular is staged, but I’ve personally seen worse, unbelievably worse, in real life with my own eyes.
I worked a fire scene where the resident had a small refrigerator in the bedroom of their apartment. The refrigerator was getting power from six extension cords daisy chained together. That fire killed the occupant, so Darwin won one.
As a Mechanical Engineer I have witnessed some pretty shady stuff in the field. I was part of the Engineering forensic team that went in after the Conagra explosion. I've gotten a taste of what you do.
Had a shipmate once who would begin conversations with "What's your basic malfunction?"
