I have never had a good church warden.

I have never had a dunhill.

I have never had a pipe with a bamboo stem.
But for some reason I love that Dunhill Bamboo Churchwarden.

Gotta get my darn 100 posts so I can share! Been on since 2013 and still a jr member...the shame:(
I think it's 6 months or 100 posts, either way just tell us what you're smoking for 13 posts and you'll be fine.

So far, in the first picture I can see three Barling's, not too shabby at all! If you have any questions about any of those pipes, don't hesitate to ask. Great find!

What a score! The only thing I ever seem to find is an old rack of Grabows that looks like the dog got a hold of them or a Medico brylon pipe that has a 50 dollar price tag on it...Some people have the luck. Congrats.

Amazing estate lot! Congrats. Sadly the estate sales I find with pipes, are usually a pile of abused Grabow's. I still buy them.

I'd wager a guess that this most excellent lot of beautiful pipes is a result of some serious homework and estate research and not just a casual, let's see what they've got going on over here type find. I'd also bet that the persons handling the sale knew what was there and it's value to some extent. It's great that someone who can appreciate that collection got their hands on it. Congratulations!

So the story goes...I collect Peterson Pipes and found an unsmoked pre-republic with the sticker still in the bowl for a relatively low "BIN" price on eBay. I emailed the seller and got an even better price and bought it. She then contacted me to let me know she would be posting many more...I noticed she was local and asked if I could come see her collection. She welcomed the visit. Well...she first pulled out a BOX of Peterson pipes for me to look at...and then...the boxes kept coming. Her brother, the collector, had passed and she inherited his expansive collection of antiques, African art, canes, crystal, books...he was a true connoisseur. We discussed her collection and to her delight I was very honest about its beauty and potential value. She appreciated the honesty since she had been low-balled before. I offered to buy the collection and she took a week to think it through. I went back the following weekend and she had found even more pipes! After pleasant negotiations we came to an agreement and...PIPES! It is a spectacular collection, I am still going through and slowly examining each piece. Today I am planning on cleaning an amazing Lane Era Charatan's Make Supreme with 360 degree straight grain. Will also share a large rusticated pre-trans Barling's Make YOW...so many pipes!!!! PAD Overload!!!

Motherload indeed, good job negotiating for that collection.

That Dunhill bamboo churchwarden will fetch a pretty penny, as will the others.

If you need any assistance in the restoration, give me a shout!
