I've just successfully concluded negotiations with an Etsy dealer for this unusual pipe:

It shouldn't surprise anyone that I'm a devotee of metal pipes.

This one was procured for $25.00 including shipping. :puffy:

"I've never smoked a metal pipe. Describe the benefits."
Well, before anything else be said, keep in mind that not all metals smoke the same. Having said that, certain generalizations can be made. Metals were designed primarily to provide a very cool, dry smoke by effecting condensation of moisture in the smoke and by trapping much of the goo. All of the metals I currently have (there are more on the way) do quite a good job, although some are better at it than others.

In addition, metal pipes are extremely sturdy and can tolerate mishandling much better than briars, not to mention meers. Furthermore, they are quite easy to clean and maintain. Finally, they are certainly unusual compared to most briars and always attract attention.

The major downside of metal pipes is that they (with the exception of the Falcon models) are no longer in production and are thus not readily available. So, metal devotees like myself depend on sites like Ebay and Etsy, and on forum posters who are willing to trade or sell.

You, sir/madam, are a true guerilla piper. I won't seek it out, but I'll give it a try if I stumble across one.

The look is right out of the Forties.

I like it... the rack too.

I've never smoked a metal pipe, but that one looks like it's well made and would be a good pipe.

Congrats yadan - love the "streamliner" fins on that pipe - very 1940s indeed.
Hope it's a good smoker for you.

Thanks, guys, for your (unexpectedly) positive comments. I'm not too sure about the condition of the bowl, although the dealer says it "looks" smokeable.

True, this will be a nice collection piece, but I smoke everything I collect, and wouldn't buy anything that isn't smokeable. Sort of like having a Rolls chassis without a motor!

It's a great example of the Art Deco style.
I'm not a metal pipe fan, but saw one them on EBay a few months ago and was almost tempted to bid on it because of the look of it.
