I would probably put myself above the Coast Guard actually. But they have a rough go as well. I don't care what branch service he served in. You served your country and gained respect and honor for your service.
I miss the UK used to live in Fairford, which is in Gloucestershire. This was when I was in the Air Force.
Ah, U2 land. Not sure if they still fly although it wouldn't surprise me if they do.
I worked for veterans for 30 years, so I was just reminded of how many would suggest that the Air Force was military enough for them. I have two nephews in the Air Force currently and am very proud of them. You deserve all the respect and honor you can get. I also believe that the Coast Guard doesn't get enough respect. You are all true heroes.
They flew one in when I was there. But I don't think it's very common anymore longest runway before you hit mainly on Europe was used for refueling for the B- 52s during World War II. Don't quote me on that, though. I may be wrong with the type of aircraft.
