Central Texas
Hello fellow pipers, I'm from central Texas area. I've been smoking pipes sporadically ever since I bought my first Grabow at the drugstore I worked at as a teen during high school. Back then it was Captain Black primarily, as that was what was available to me at the time. 35 years later, I'm now partial to Boswell aromatics and Lane 1-Q & RLP. Additionally, I've since upgraded my pipes (if only somewhat) with Brebbia, Savinelli, and Peterson brands being the most prevalent of them all.

Growing up as a child, my grandfather was a pipe smoker who kept a rotation of around 7-8 pipes. I fondly remember the many hours spent sitting on the porch with him, listening to him tell stories about his life, his time at war, imparting words of wisdom, or dispensing life advice whilst puffing on one of his pipes packed with Prince Albert. I suppose that was what sparked my curiosity about pipes from a young age.

During my college years, I put aside my pipes in lieu of premium cigars. As of late, however, I've found myself picking up my pipes more and more. I suppose for me, I no longer found spending 90+ minutes smoking a cigar a worthwhile endeavor, when a bowl of my favorite blend provides me more enjoyment in half the time.

Wanting to dive further into the art/hobby/activity of pipe smoking, I searched online and found that this forum seemed to be one of the more active ones. I've already found lots of good information, lively respectful discussions, and tips from the members here; I'm sure I'll learn much more from all of you as time goes on. :sher:
