Has anyone noticed that Bond never seems to run out of bullets. Given that he is meant to be a secret agent everyone seems to know the bloke. He walks into a hotel and the front desk says to him 'Your usual room Mr. Bond?'. I have always been amazed when he says 'My name is James Bond' and no one ever says to him 'So what!'.
Well, Mr Big (Live and Let Die) did reply "Names is for tombstones, baby' before JB even got beyond '"My name is..."

Simon, with all due respect , nigh on every Hollywood 'shooter' seems to have a none emptying magazine. I've actually slowed down certain recorded films and counted the shots fired, in some cases akin to 20 - 30 shots fired from a standard handgun.

Therefore JB isn't the only culprit in this regard, but that is of course how Hollywood works....give the people whatever they want which equates to much gunfire and explosions ?

Regards,

Jay ?

PPK magazines are quite small...theoretically, he could be reloading off-camera...if one is predisposed to give the movies the benefit of the doubt ?

I always laugh at scenes on TV and movies where the shooter puts a silencer on a revolver! The cylinder/barrel gap is enough to make the silencer totally worthless.

I vaguely remember reading about one revolver made ages ago that actually pushed the cylinder up against the barrel when firing, but as you may notice, it was not a commercial success, as no one has heard much about it since.

The Bond books and movies were total fiction, whatever the source material might have been, as was "The Irishman," about the Jimmy Hoffa killing. Legend I would call them. Much more charming and reasonable seeming than the real life activities. Like Robin Hood figures who mostly shot some people whilst robbing them. We wish people were better, so we retell the tales in that frame. The best part of "The Irishman" is when the hit man is elderly, a status not attained by many of his colleague, when he doesn't feel remorse of much of anything about his misdoings. Sleepwalking?

Has anyone else ever noticed why the Bond villains always insist on telling Bond their plan for world domination/chaos/robbing Fort Knox or gaining control of the world Condor market etc and why are they always so weird looking?

I believe in the earlier films he used a .32 acp Walther, and then moved up to the .380. Now, who knows. Roger Moore was the last good James Bond.
