What's a good way of storing spun cut coins like 3 nuns or Roll Cake in such a way that the coins stay nicely laid out?

Should I just leave them in the tin and put the tin in a mylar bag?

That’s what I would do…

I have many 24 ounce boxes of PS 403 stashed away, and I sealed the cellophane wrapped trays of coins in Mylar bags.

I rub out the coins when I smoke them, so I guess it’s not really all that important to preserve the coins as they are packaged.

I am aging mine in the tins and then in a waterproof tote. I don’t see a weakness with that double sealed approach. Please tell me if I am wrong.

It's not old blend. 4th Gen release their limited edition once a year. Two years ago, it was Peaty Kentucky. I came as roll cake. Last year was great, but mold get 'em.

I used to do this exactly, the tote is like a DIY humidor, however the tins started to rust sometime after 3-5 years from the humidity. I now use glass jars, or for tins just leave them out on a shelf in boxes.

A jar that fits your storage situation should do it. You can stack the coins somewhat in order, pressed down or more loosely. I think that might be more rigid than a mylar bag, though I don't have a lot of experience with those, though my cigars keep nicely in one of them. Leave the jar sealed until you are ready to smoke the coins on a regular basis, as with any other cut or blend.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Some more clarification: I don't regularly smoke any single blend, so basically I have about 80 mason jars and dip into each on a sporadic basis. Three of my jars have small coins in them, and a lot of the coins got un-spun, which isn't the end of the world, but it's a little disappointing. I was using a regular mouth, half pint jar, which is taller than it is wide, so maybe that was part of the problem.

The one time I simply left things in the tin, the coins quickly got too dry for my liking.
I think I'm going to look for some of those shallow wide mouth mason jars that Monty55 mentioned and see if that works for the next tin I open. Otherwise I'll get a resealable mylar bag to keep my opened tins in.

That was the whole problem.

I've never had flakes or coins come loose in these small wide mouth jars. You don't have to tip the jar, or shake it around to get what you need out. Just reach in with a few fingers and pull out what you need.
