Ok, i don't want to be the sarcastic one here, just kidding, don't mind bro ?. Usually sip, to my understanding, is to slowly draw in bit by bit by using the breathing method. Stick the stem in your mouth, don't take it out, when u breath in, a small sip of smoke will slowly draw into your mouth.

I’m fairly new as well. When I first started smoking pipe I was a 4 year old retired cigarette smoker. At first, I smoked pipe like a golfer with a batter’s swing. With the cold I now smoke in my workshop and usually watch a documentary or draw up blueprints for my next project. I learned that I just breath through my nose and when I feel a gentle pressure in my mouth, I release the smoke. I feel that my breathing is actually doing the drawing of smoke. I also heard about pipes that smoke you and that would be my meerschaum. It literally puts smoke in my mouth with no effort.

Are you actually using your breath to draw smoke out of the pipe?

Yes. When we breath in, as long as there's something in our mouth, for sure there are some air from our mouth will go in as well. That's why i mentioned, stick the stem into the mouth, don't take it out ?. I learnt from this video ?

Yeah, not a big fan of his. Breath smoking is using the breathing as a metronome for cadence. I've watched his video and am surprised that he hasn't burnt holes in his pipes. With the breathing method, your mouth is closed off and you use a continuous slow draw for several breaths before releasing the smoke and the pipe doesn't have to remain in your mouth. Smoke never enters my throat cavity until I retrohale. Watch Alan's video.

I think "sip" is used to make it understood that you shouldn't suck on the pipe like your trying to get a golf ball through a water hose. I read once that a good pipe will smoke itself and there is a lot of truth in this. Light the pipe, put it in your mouth and breath. A slow intake of air will keep the pipe going. Many people smoke a pipe rather forcefully and have volumes of smoke, and they enjoy the experience. So it is what works for you. As in anything in life, moderation is the way to go.

Both video's methods looked the same to me ? , but Alan draws more smoke into his mouth compared with Muttnchop. I like Alan's way, coz i like more smoke draw into my mouth.
My way is, sometime when i puff out the smoke from my mouth, I'll inhale it back by using my nose, to get more smell of the tobacco ?

A sip is not registered with the bureau of weights and measures. It is a small intake of smoke to swirl around the middle of your mouth before being exhaled in a wisp. You don't have clouds of smoke hanging in front of your face as you would with a puff, and you aren't blowing any smoke rings. Beyond that, you needn't analyze it much. A sip of bourbon isn't chugging it ... that sort of thing. Now relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy your smoke.
Yes, but how big a wisp???

Mutton chops breath method video is great. What’s also great is being out for a walk with the dog and letting the light breeze gently sip for you.

If you take your lit pipe in hand, you can see the smoke being eased out of the mouthpiece by the breeze blowing over top the bowl.

Draw as quickly and as much smoke into your mouth as possible and hold it there until you pass out. use any of the extra unnecessary space in your sinuses, throat, lungs and belly if possible.

Now work backwards reducing each of those aspects in thirds until you find the most enjoyable ratio for you. If like my wife, you find that pipe smoking is best without actually lighting the tobacco, then congratulations you already have a cellar that will outlast your lifetime ?
