This is shameful but I left my pipe out on the porch a few weeks ago, resting on my tobacco drying plate. The water and the tobacco created a brown liquid and stained the side of the pipe. Any idea if I can get this out?

Always try the easy thing first. Rubbing with a damp cloth.
If you really want to go all in, wet sand with 800 grit over a larger area. You don’t want a depression. Then use MicroMesh cloth 1500-12k to re-polish the surface.
If it’s soaked in deep you may be out of luck. Call it a beauty mark.

I once had a pink stain on the side of my meer from when I left it lying on a red folder.

Some delicate rubbing with 1500 grit sandpaper cleared it away no problem, and the only stain on it now is from where I rubbed the thick goo off the end of a pipe cleaner on it the other day to try and cheat some more coloration onto it (which is slowly being worn away by the case and my fingers)
