I wonder if there is a whiskey forum analogue to this site. I can see people like the guy in the video going on about how to drink and then opposing viewpoints like, "I don't throw it on the floor, that's what the drapes are for."
I respect peaty single malts. I just can't drink them. Stirs up my Scottish blood and I want to grab a claymore and off somebody. Turns out I am a Berserker, but only when I ingest peat. I swear it is a hallucinogen as well. Whooda thunk?
Yeah, there was a lot of fun stuff around...Tobacco, Coca, Ayahuasca. They didn't predict the end of the world as such. The long count calendar just ended. Usually at the end of a cycle they would party and then make sacrifices to the Gods for 5 days then start another cycle. Kinda hard to do if your priests are all scattered in the jungle or gone from small pox. They had a base 60 counting system to recon time. Just like we do. The Sumerians/Babylonians were the only other culture with that counting system. Sacrifices would appease the stars/planets and they would keep turning.

that might explain why they were able to "predict the end of the world" but somehow never noticed the Spaniards sneaking up on them
