Ok so stupid title. I know the answer is put some tobacco in your pipe and smoke it...

Im more interested in knowing which blends have complimentary ghosts. Up until now I have mainly smoked these in Cobs or clay pipes. I’ve seen a few threads on the topic but thought I’d list the blends I have in the cellar and get some feed back as to whether they are grouped correctly

Pipe 1:
Ennerdale
St bruno
Warhorse Bar (red)

Pipe 2:
Conniston Cut
1792
BF #7

Pipe 3:
Mixture 79 (I know, I know)
Brown flake licorice

I would then smoke best brown #2 unscented Twists any of the above.

Grousemoor I normally smoke in a small clay, but if I wanted to smoke it in a briar I would choose either pipe 1 or 3.

Am I on the right track or way off?

I also heard some people have found some of the above blends to perform well In falcons. I have a falcon I could dedicate if required.

If in doubt, buy some cobs. You can’t go wrong if they all have their own pipe! ?
Seriously, I smoke 1792, Mixture 79, and St Bruno Ready Rubbed in a meer. They will leave a temporary ghost, but one that can be removed with a hot water flush, or a few bowls of Burley. War Horse Bar gets its own cob. I found out quickly that stuff will ghost pretty strongly, but it’s damn good. I haven’t tried the other blends, so I don’t have any advice on those.

Don’t get me wrong, I have a few cobs that I love smoking all of these blends in. I’m also mainly a burley smoker and quite enjoy the ghosting of these blends in the following bowls.

I guess I just decided that I want to dedicate some briars to the genres so I can thoroughly ghost them with these blends.

I have a few pipes dedicated to Lakeland’s. If it’s scented I smoke it in those pipes. G&H, SG etc. all get smoked in those pipes. I don’t break it down further than that and have found smoking the scented tobaccos in dedicated pipes brings out more nuances within the tobacco. Plus I can smoke Ennerdale or 1792 and not have to worry about ghosting.

Hmmm. I think it would probably be ok to group St Bruno and 1792, since they both have tonquin. War Horse Bar has it too, but it’s pretty unique, with the Valerian root. I don’t know man. I’m stumped. ?

I have cobs and I enjoy them most days...I may, just may actually prefer them to briar.

I was just curious to see how other lovers of scented blends dedicated their briar pipes. It seemed like a fair question given the common, yet sometimes quite distinct flavour profiles of the blends.

I like the idea of just smoking them all in a dedicated briar. Keeps it simple.
