Not that i am aware of that its repaired.I found pics of like i have online. The place i bought it from said they have not seen any if these in iver 15yrs.They say its from the mud to late 70s.
That band has me leary, the Punto Oro's and Giubileo d'Oro's focal point is the quality of the briar. More than the gold dots on the stem would distract from the natural beauty of the grain. Does the stem have a gold dot?

How was the pipe presented when you bought it, and who sold it to you? Usually if there is gold on pipe (or any other expensive features) some explanation on provenance would be given, whether true or false. If none was given, I'd suspect repairs and replacements, maybe. No history given at all? It's a beautiful pipe but probably not expensive for its rarity, from its lack of background. But someone here might have the info, and exonerate the pipe as a treasure.
