My ordering habits mirror kodiakred's; but its not just 200g that CBSA watches for - if you import (anything) with a dollar value greater than $20, you can be dinged (although they do seem to be letting alot slip past, thankfully).
I still maintain that getting dinged with the 95% tax at Customs is still a better deal than we can get though our local B&M's. Here in Vancouver, I've seen tins of Peterson IF marked at $39.99. If you look at the same product via a U.S. based etailer, the cost of one tin is around $10. Shipping will run you about the same (but who is going to order one tin, right?), so your into it for $20 now. At the border, it gets dinged, but only the original cost of the product, not the shipping, so you have to pay $10 in taxes to take receipt of your tin. In the end though, you still come out ahead of the game to the tune of $9.99.
