There is a personal use exemption, not 100% sure what it is, but pretty sure it's mordant than 200 gm. You may have to show proof of purchase though.

Well I decided to play it safe and just stick to the law, I bought 200gm of pipe tobacco and 9 cigars. Didn't even ask me at the border if I had anything to declare. Oh well, still better to do it right in particular with my daughter in the car with me. Still happy with my purchases though.
rothnh: yup, that's the place. Dad's is a nice small shop. I'm mostly an aro smoker and he has a good selection of bulk tobacco. Dan always asks us if we would like to sit and have a smoke before we go but it's a long drive and we are usually in a hurry.
brdavidson: Glad to hear you had a good trip. My friend and I have both come back maxed on pipe tobacco and almost maxed on cigars with no problems. so long as you are legal, may as well come back with as much as you can! It's just so darn cheap... as well, there are no smoke shops in NS that carry bulk tobacco, just a very few that have expensive tins of mostly Peterson and some pouches of "cherry" flavour *ick*
