My required 4000 calories/day is already a stretch, I don't think it's possible unless my metabolism calms down.I was gonna comment to that effect, but figured it wasn’t my place. I’m wondering just how much food it’d take to get you over that mark.
After reading this thread…I should probably run away from this hobby. It’s like there are red flags but, instead of seeing them as warning signs, they are just waved at one another as a sign of greeting. I’m both impressed and terrified at the same time; as I’m checking sales and new stock online
This is where I'm at also. After my big sell off this past summer, I'm down to somewhere around 250 pounds. I'm tired of trying to precisely catalogue it, knowing I have enough to out live me is adequate.
I agree with everything you said and am in a virtually similar position across the board, except for I have a longer time to retire. At my current smoke rate of 1.25lbs a year my current stash will last 37.6 years. I do expect my consumption rate to increase considerably when I retire In 14 years. I also expect prices to go up and want to be in a position where I will not have to buy any after I retire. Although I am sure I will just have to try the latest small batch releases from time to time
I was also amazed at how much prices went up on some blends in the last 4 years. Not to mention the Michigan 30% excise tax that went into effect .
