75 to 80. There's about 45 that get smoked at least once per month. I smoke around 25 on a fairly regular basis.

Two Falcons, was three until I buggered one up. As for briars I have eight including the Peterson which is the only pipe I bought new from a tobacconist years ago. The other seven briars are all estate pipes. From the top they are as follows.

I have about 35 or so, including a few cobs, a clay, a Kirsten, 1918 Gourd Calabash, some churchwardens, and briars of all sorts. I try to smoke through them, but I only smoke a pipe on weekend mornings mostly. Damn Cigar bug bit me and i really like them. Still, 1 per day kinda smoker, so I haven’t spent a fortune buying cigars.

I sense that a lot of members, like me, prefer not to take a disciplined count very often. Now and then, I bolster up my courage and actually move from rack to rack, finding a few pipes hiding or double-racked, and ferreting out the cobs on the bookshelf, etc. The number of pipes I have isn't something I'm particularly proud to determine. Though I like them all. The ones that fall out of favor get culled and traded off. As time goes on, fewer fall into that category. For members who have decidedly more pipes than they smoke or want, now is a good time to recycle them, sell or trade them off. The estate (used) market is good right now, and that may or may not remain true.

Just for conversation sake, how many pipes do you have? I would guess that I have around 60 of various quality and brands. Of those, I probably only smoke regularly around 10. The others get smoked occasionally. Pipes are such great pieces of art that are so hard to resist.

I just started smoking a pipe around a month ago, and I already have 5. It’s hard to stop already.

I have 30 all briar. I gave 6 to my son-in-law last year, which has been a great way for us to bond.

I have 60 some briar, 3 meerschaum and 18 cobs or hardwoods. I haven’t stopped buying pipes but I’ve slowed down a lot. I often go months without buying a pipe now! The TAD needs more feeding than the PAD!

How many pipes do you need? As I posted recently on another forum, my wife asked me this question the other day. My reply was that I had 1 empty space in my pipe rack (7 pipe rack), so I would need at least 1 more pipe. But I was too chicken to tell her that after that, I would need another pipe rack!

112 total: (106 briars, 3 meers, 2 cobs, 1 clay, and a partridge in a pear tree…) I never smoke the meers, so they’ll be culled soon and replaced with 3 more briars. I’ve completionist tendencies and having three open pockets in the box just won’t do ?

I have a total of 69 pipes purely by accident I assure you.

Some get smoked a little; some get smoked a lot.

I have 48 pipes, and have stopped buying pipes because I believe in quality and not quantity.
I only had three more pipes to buy, which would make the perfect size of my collection to 51. One of them is from an American Carver, whose work I admire a lot, and in my personal opinion she is is the most talented carver in the world today. Whenever I tried to buy her pipes before, it was already sold. Today I gathered the motivation to contact her directly for a commission, pre selected a working pipe of hers, agreed on a price and decided to finalize a contract on Monday.
Knowing myself it is a 100%
chance that I will buy the pipe on Monday, so hopefully one more to my collection. Since it is a commission it will be tuned to to my preferences, and that’s an added bonus.

To re-iterate … while I don’t believe in quantity, your post was a trigger to push me to commission a pipe which would bring my collection closer to completion, so thank you!
