Who does like a bit of silver here and there! I’ve got a few and use ash to polish them when they start to tarnish. Now silver rims... I’ve seen only a few I like, that’s generally to flashy for me.

I'm a big fan of silver accents on pipes.
Here is a great Adam Davidson stack billiard with silver ring I picked up in Chicago. This pipe makes me happy!

Well, it’s one of the museum pieces...
Not gonna lie, I have come back to this thread a half dozen time just to check out your museum piece again and again.

Tasteful, appropriate-for-the-specimen / artistically incorporated silver is a glorious thing, imo. I always thought it added a touch of "barbaric splendor".
It's not just for traditional shapes anymore, either, btw. Chris Asteriou has been playing with it a lot lately and hitting the bullseye every time. What he had on offer at Chicago last month was stunning.

I love silver on a pipe but only when I love it. Its all about the execution. Les Wood is easy to name as a favorite but his pipes really are some of my favorite modern examples of silversmith craftsmanship.

I don't care for it, it just makes the overall composition seem to busy and I prefer organic accents. I have bought them for one reason or another though.
I had this IMP just because it was half price during a going out of business sale.

I got these to go with my 904/9004 collection.

Wow! There are some amazing pipes here! Thanks so much for posting them.
But you guys know me, I love me some beater pipes,(aka pipes with character). So here are a couple of more I didn't show earlier. An old WDC with an orfic bit, and a really beat up no name Bulldog, which is a great smoking pipe. I always wonder about the history of pipes that look like this, not exactly abused but signs of heavy use.
