I'm active on 3 other forums, a cigar fourm and two muzzleloading forums. I'm signed up on a few others, but I rarely visit.

I once belonged to a composers forum but after not too long the politically correct and closed mindset groupthink afflicted denizens just became insufferable. I was even accused at one point of trying to set music "progress" back three hundred years! (I favor traditional harmony) Who would have thought that a lone hobbyist could wield so much power?
There is so much more diversity here and the community is so much more accepting and kind to its members I have no need to go anywhere else.

Forum monogamy. Why would I go elsewhere when this forum has everything I want? Good conversation, smart people, a variety of humor, and all the information I could want about pipes and tobacco from people who know what they're talking about...most of the time.

This is the only pipe forum I visit. I occasionally visit an Army Ranger forum, but the chest-beating BS gets old real fast.
Although....I did get a nasty message the other night on this forum to "add some content to my posts." Wow. Sorry I'm not an expert yet.

I am only on this Forum (and I got around for years before making up my mind). This is a very well run Forum thanks to Kevin.

I am on this one daily, and thoroughly enjoy spending my time here learning and of course reading all the "in crowd" posts trying to pick out the humor and tips. I also occasionally visit a Nissan Xterra forum researching upgrades and mods for my truck, and a rottweiler forum because about a month ago I got a rottie pup and needed advice on training and housebreaking. Currently the wife is covering that department until I get home to train him how I see fit. So I guess 3 altogether.

+1 to all of the comments above. I'm not an online joiner, but this site and the people on it have changed my life. The interest and information I've received have transformed a pretty lonely habit into an engrossing, enjoyable hobby. I am very grateful.

I am on two pipe forums, three motorcycle forums, one musician forum, and a small hold farm forum. I prefer forums to Facebook, I am active on them in phases. I have only ever been blocked from one forum and I asked a mod to remove me from another forum. Both were pipe smoker forums. The best forum that I am a member of is a motorcycle forum that has very little moderating. They say its self moderating. In other words the way ya get booted is if you are an ass and a majority vote gets ya booted. In general people that act a fool on there get ignored and go away on their own. That forum however is not a commercial forum. No one makes money and it is member supported, voluntarily in that there is no dues. We just love being in that community and give to support the cost of operation. There is as many women as men on there as well.

I scan most of the english language pipe boards/blogs at least weekly and occasionally post to about 6 of them. I also read a few F1 boards. 8O

Elliott,
A bit of advice... Seeing that I have been an Independent Insurance Agency Owner for 42 years, I strongly advise you to be certain that you have CPL (Comprehensive Personal Liability"). It is part of your Homeowners or Renter's insurance. The "Rottie" is on the prohibitive list for every insurance company that I represent. I certainly hope that you have not misrepresented the fact that you own that type of dog (if you have been asked). That could represent a problem. Also, you should have an Umbrella Liability policy of at least One Million Dollars above your underlying Auto and Home limits. PM me if you need additional advice as this is off topic.

I am an active member of a fair share of forums, archaeological findings, fencing, cyber security, cold cases, yo-yos and of course a few tobacco pipe related groups as well. Going on my second year unemployed has given me the time to keep up with my various interests and hobbies. I usually post to many of them daily with this forum being the exception.
