I’ve been tracking my smokes for years and using mostly Dunhill Grp 4 size bowls, and pack full to the top and fairly firm, I avg 18-19 bowls for a 50gr tin of ribbon cut, about 21-22 bowls per 2oz tin of the same and slightly less for flake & crumble cake tobacs. The GH & SG flakes seem to yield slightly fewer bowls yet / I imagine due to the density. Oh, and I rub everything out fully.

I’ve been smoking a pipe for a little over 10 years and I have zero clue how many bowls are in a tin.

I’ve never thought about it and now I care even less.
Right?

I've usually got two or three open at a time. I know a tin lasts me roughly a week. I've never counted how many bowls I've gotten out of one.

I think this was a good question. I have a preference for smaller pipes, as my available time to smoke is often limited. I'm sure that if I were to count, I'd get around 25 bowls for every 2oz, but that's mere conjecture from me.

You guys are doing it all wrong. As tins are round, you need to get pi (?) involved somehow. Don't ask me though, as I seem to have lost most of my math skills over the years.

Pi? What about cake? Now I have to ream the bowl to remove cake and calculate the pi. Don’t get me started on the meringue equation.

How many flakes are there in a tin? I'm guessing there are some variables like flake size, thickness density etc.
