out of the 103 blends these are my best likes; nightcap, royal yacht, 965, irish flake, billy budd, bayou night, haunted bookshop, Habana daydream, crooner, carter hall, bold Kentucky, five brothers, old dark fired. quit a few I don't like and a lot ihave't tried yet. when I get enough time in the forum here I see if I can remedy the dislikes. thaks all for talking with me. well looks like I got some catching up huh mcitinner

Trying hard to thin the 1300+ I have on hand to my Top200 Cellar. There are a few ex-residents that got demoted out of the Cellar in order to make room for delectable new ones.

40 unopened tins and 12 jars...Throwning out the last bit of Plumcake.....so 11 jars. It's about time to order more tins.

I only have 8 at the moment and soon to be 7. I would love to have more to cellar and sample but am just not in a financial position to do that. What I tend to do when I order tobacco is get something I know I love and something I have not tried. This works for me as I can often try something new while being sure I will be satisfied.
The truth is that I used to have a lot more but found that I was never really getting around to smoking them. I have since decided that I don't really get to know a blend until I have at least worked my way through a tin or two. As a result I no longer open lots of tins at once. So even if I did have a large cellar full of different untried blends I would not have a lot on the go at once. Would be nice to age some though. I find myself getting more patient as I get older.

Last time I counted, I had about 20 blends (or single tobaccos) open or jarred and available, including two tub tobaccos. Maybe a few more counting samples sent by Forums members. And 30 unopened tins aging. A lot of the blends mentioned by scrooge are among my favorites, and then there's Semois, a special favorite.

I just counted my flakes again and realized I now have 30 different ones in my cellar. If I could smoke red virginia's I would probably have 45 blends, but alas, my affliction with the reds keeps me at only 30.

Probably about 60. Most of that is taken up with just a few tins (1-6) each. I only stock a few blends in any serious quantity:

1. Rattray Red Rapparee

2. Gawith FVF

3. Dunhill Durbar

4. Peretti Royal

5. Stokkebye Navy

6. McClelland Virginia No. 24

7. McConnell Oriental

Mine are listed at the link below. Didn't count them, but under 100 I hope. Too many, though.

Okay, I don't feel nearly so bad about the 12 jars I accumulated pretty much right off the bat...
Or the additional 12 (smaller) jars that I acquired in order to take samples along on a cruise, which then were used to store the samples I was gifted on said cruise...
Or the 11 blends that I've either jarred or left in their tins that I haven't sampled yet.
Thankfully, my wife is a tea fanatic. Any time she raises an eyebrow at yet another tobacco purchase, I simply inquire about the state of the tea shelf in our pantry. :D And admittedly, the last 8 tins I bought were the Tsuge Seasons and Gods series, and she loves the tin art almost as much as I do, so no eyebrows were raised. And I just bought her $75 worth of Silver Needle tea, which should cover anything I can't live without for the next month or so.
