Brian has summarized how it is for me. I smoke probably an average of 7 to 9 bowls a week or so, and more than half of those are typically on the weekend. I do work from home sometimes, and when I do I smoke more because I have the opportunity to do so.

Looking over the posts in this thread alone it is easy to see that most of us pipe

smokers do not have an uncontrollable habit. (Other than always looking to buy something

different.)
I wish more people could understand that about pipe smoking.
I am about a 3 or 4 bowl a week man.

If it were ten pounds of SG Navly Flake, Escudo or GLP Quiet nights, it would last me about 12 to 15 months.
If it were Half and Half, it would last an eternity - or to reduce hyperbole, until it turned to dust.

On present form, about three years. I think I consume just over an ounce a week and on that score I reckon I'm just under the three years. But things change and I am a daily smoker with about three bowlfuls per day average, but sometimes five, others two, so variables throughout the mix here.

When this thread first went up, I saw it and thought to myself "damn, 10lbs?!?! That would last forever!!" As a bit of time ticked by, every time I'd notice it again that "forever" number keeps dropping. Now I'm thinking not forever at all.
