How long would 10 lbs of tobacco last you?

Just trying to get an idea of how long it would take the average or more smoker to burn through ten pounds of Baccy :D Don't have to be exact. Just think if you have 10 pounds sitting in front of you, your normal amount of pipe smoking and not celler any of it.

I'm at about a LB a year right now. I expect consumption to increase through the years though. Just hit 40lbs in the cellar with a goal of an even 100 before I turn 40.

Depends how much you smoke. 10 lbs is 4536 grams. Call an average bowl around 3grams of tobacco or so. So that's around 1512 bowls.

According to peck's math :wink: and my average about 4-5 bowls a week. 10 lbs would last me 7 years.

I have just over 10 pounds right now, and it'd likely last me 3 years. My smoking rate varies widely, but it averages to just below 1.5 a day.

As is it would probably go 10-15 years.

Oh..it also depends on what it is. Say it's a good Gawith rope 2-3 years as above. Now on the other hand say it's a Borkum Riff then you're looking at more like 2-3 hundred years

It depends on what kind of tobacco it is. I have some half empty tins I'll probably never smoke.

16oz to a 1.0# = 160oz. 1oz a week (and that's freight train smoking) is 160 weeks or 3.07 years. That had better a really good blend.

I also only go through a pound per year. My consumption may in the future increase so I'd say 8 to 10 years.
