I just noticed a couple of Mac Baren tins that are dated. I checked several tins and most of the Mac Baren's I have are not dated.
Not Dated:
- Mixture Scottish Blend
- Club Blend
- Navy Flake
- Latakia Blend
Dated Tins:
- HH Mature Virginia (September 2007)
- HH Vintage Syrian (October 2008)
Incidentally, when I mentioned that I love Vintage Syrian at the Mac Baren booth, the rep gave me a tin and that tin is dated May 2009.
The two tins pictured above were bought at the same B&M (House of Pipes & Cigars, St. Pete FL) at the same time and they are about a year apart. As we discussed in a thread somewhere (maybe this one), tobacco tins can possibly already have some age on them, and some can be sitting in a store for years.
Echoing Mate's sentiment, it would be neat if all tobacco manufacturers put dates on the packaging - just like wine.
