How Large is Your Pipe Collection in Proportion to How Much You Smoke?

I purchase pipes from a collecting perspective, so there are various themes that I've pursued. I also have a handful of beaters that I'll take outside of the house and won't get upset if they take some punishment. How often a pipe will be smoked has never been a consideration for me.

As of last week I have 3 pipes, and I smoke 5-8 bowls per day. I have a 4th pipe coming this week.

I likely have far fewer pipes than many guys here. But I have far more pipes than I ‘need’ for the 1 to 3 (most days 1in the morning w/ my coffee) bowl I smoke each day.

I’ve got 6 pipes and maybe 30 blends of tobacco. I pretty much just reach for Sillem’s Black but will rotate between the pipes I own. I’d say I probably own too many pipes and tobacco for only being a once or twice a month smoker. I’ve got two more pipes I want to buy in the future and I’ll be happy with my collection.

At 4+ bowls a day... technically too small, but I've never had an issue or really given it that much thought.

I think some of us cull pipes just so we can buy more pipes. I try not to do that, but I think I have. Store credit.

Small. I own 2 and smoke both 5 or 6 times a week during fall and winter, in summer I enjoy cigars more. I shop for pipes and end up with tobacco either pipe or cigars.

As a collector I own over 150 pipes and I try to rotate them as much as possible but I tend to smoke my Petersons cobs more than the others. At least once a year I commit to smoking all my pipes at least once a day that way none of my "children" feel neglected.
