I'm in the search for some english/balkan blends as a daily smoke, preferably the ones that aren't too expensive. here in my country i believe these are cheapest latakia based blends available.

buying tobacco in bulk here is non-existent and I believe it is illegal.

either way I'm open to buying slightly- costly good english/balkan blends if they are worth the money, but I'd like to know first how they compare to the blend mentioned in the title

What brands are available to you?
Samuel Gawith, Peterson, Cornell & Diehl, are the ones that are readily available and varied. Occasionally capstan and Orlik would make an appearance here and there. Although, Capstan is favoured here where I live, stocks usually don't last too long sadly.

For an "daily" English/Balkan, I am assuming (correct me if I am wrong) that you are looking for something lighter on the Latakia but with noticable oriental presence.

With that as the criteria, I personally enjoy Peterson (formerly Dunhill) Early Morning Pipe, Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader, and Presbyterian mixture. From C&D I like Sea Dog, but it also has a decent serving of dark burley in addition to the typical English/Balkan components of Virginia, Turkish, and Latakia.

I don't know how these blends compare to the one you mentioned, as it is not available in my area.

Haven't had this particular blend myself, but the comments are suggesting its yet another iteration of a Balkan Sobranie clone; if that's the case, there are a number of bulk (and tinned) blends you can try.

Among the brands you mentioned, for latakia blends, I like SG Squadron Leader and Commonwealth and Peterson 965 and Nightcap. Commonwealth and Nightcap may be too heavy to smoke all day. You might also like Peterson Old Dublin, Early Morning Pipe and Standard Mixture.
