Organization…interesting concept, one that I have never subscribed to. Takes all the fun out of rummaging through everything (I thought I lost those years ago…but i digress). Nothing like finding a surprise and enjoying it.

I have a stack of tins - no particular order, just a stack. Grab one or knock the stack over and grab one. Either way works for me. Maybe someday I’ll put things in order, but I doubt it. Why start now?

As soon as I get any tobacco I transfer it to a Ball jar, since I don't trust tins to not rust inside over time or tubs/pouches to not lose their seals, so I've just got a little shelf of 8 oz Ball jars that I organize by genre. My shelf order goes: Aromatics first, then Lakelands, Virginias next, then Va/Burs, Burleys, dark fired blends, and English blends last.

Within each genre I keep blends from the same company grouped together, though there's no particular order to them past that. I also have a separate tiny shelf on my nightstand where I keep my half a dozen or so most frequently smoked blends and a Rubbermaid tub in the closet containing big 64 oz Ball jars full of favorite blends that I decided to stock up on, but the rest stay on the main shelf grouped by genre. puffy

My wine cellar consists of three large plastic boxes and another closet space. I keep everything together, but not jumbled up. It's somewhat organized so that I can access it when I start a new can. My wine cellar is very small, just enough for me, for when I get my sense of smell back someday 😭 😵‍💫 😬 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:IMG_5255.jpgIMG_5104[12842].jpgthumbnail_IMG_0535.jpg

Full disclosure. I tried to organize once. I logged everything. Made a fancy spread sheet. Got busy, bought new tobacco, smoked old tobacco and after a few months opened the spreadsheet.

Took a deep breath, poured some bourbon and deleted the spreadsheet.

My brain doesn’t function in an organized linear path. It’s more, look squirrel.

So, the tins and jars are relatively organized, but it’s not written down.

I guess I just don’t care enough. I have enough tobacco to last my lifetime.

That’s the only checklist I’m concerned about.

A file cabinet, an architect print cabinet, & library index card cabinet, & boxes. I file by brand (tins, jars, mylar bags), dated & labeled. Keep track with a notebook for each cabinet, all drawers labeled on the outside. The one of’s go in the architect shallow drawers. Not pretty, but it works.

I keep a spreadsheet thats somewhat maintained only to give me an idea of how many pounds i have. I store tge physical contents of my cellar in two large horizontal file cabinet drawers and the rest in cardboard boxes.
