Hi everyone,
I'm new to the hobby and I've been slowly building up my tobacco stash. I'm wandering about a good way to keep track of it. So, I figured, let’s ask the professionals!
How do you guys keep track of your cellar?

Also, how do you label your jars and tins?
Any other suggestions…

Hey Alpha, I just started using tobaccocellar.com this weekend, pretty easy to use and free. I just use regular old mailing labels and a sharpie to write the blend and date on the jar.

Welcome Alphaflux!!!
I just developed my own Excel spreadsheet to help me keep track of my growing cellar. I have separate sheets for VA/VaPers, English, Burleys and Aro's. I have columns for brand, blend, type of container, number of containers, total weight per blend and date added. Each sheet has a field which calculates the total for the page. On my first sheet I have a field which calculates a running total of each blend and the total cellar. My number now are:

English - 14.5 lbs

Va/VaPers - 10 lbs

Burleys - 4.8 lbs

Aro's - 2 lbs
Right now I am working on my English and VaPers.
Hope this helps!

I use a P-touch label maker to label the jars. Now days I sharpie the purchase date on the back of the tins. I really wish I would have began inventorying my cellar when I first started. I need to sit down one day and take it all out of the growing number of plastic storage bins I am accumulating and get an inventory started. I would like some cabinets or shelves in a walk in closet but unfortunately I do not have that kind of space in the spare bedroom where I keep my stash hidden while on the road.

I had someone spend the afternoon a few weeks ago working on the cellar. She put dates of acquisition on the bottom of the cans, organized and inventoried them. I thought I had 600-700 cans, it turns out there are 900.
