How do Oom Paul pipes smoke? I've heard contradictory reports. Some people love them
as a regular rotation; they hang easy on the jaw, tend to hold a good quantity of tobacco,
and have an interesting look. On the down side, some have said there is a problem with
moisture accumulating at the base of the shank, with that extreme bend, much more than
other full-bent pipes. Like any other pipe, some love 'em, some don't. What are your
experiences?
Full disclosure: I have an Iwan Ries compact pipe that is a near Oom Paul configuration, but it is sold
as a bent billiard. Unlike many bent pipes, it takes a pipe cleaner all the way to the bowl and it's a
good little smoker. But it's small, and not technically a full Oom Paul.
