How do I Make My Avatar Show up?

How do I make my avatar show on my posts? I've tried deleting and changing it but maybe I have to post a certain number of times.

This observation isn't a direct poke at Eibhir, as I get about 2 - 3 private messages a month asking the same question ... I find it quite ironic that "Sticky" threads get completely missed by a seeming majority of forum viewers.
