Million dollar wrist watches aren't that uncommon these days either
An interesting looking number but I'll stay with the Legends. This pipe is so beautiful it almost defies description. Look closely at the grain: from the side, the flame is three-dimensional, and in the top view the end grain is amazing. Is it worth that kind of money? To the correct buyer, of course. If I won the lottery tomorrow I would get it in my cart ASAP. I believe what makes it so expensive is that this piece of briar is probably one in 100,000. That, and the fact that Ikebana is a legend.
Because they couldn't sell it at $6,600.This pipe is so beautiful it almost defies description. Very true. Sometimes people (me included) forget that a pipe is just that: a little piece of wood and rubber.I think that what makes it so expensive is that there is someone emotionally unbalanced enough to pay that for a bit of wood and rubber.
Waste of a good sandblasting as well. That shape is a waste of great grain.
It looks almost like a cob
It looks almost like a cob
Theres really high end stuff, generally designed to bait trap rich folk, if they have the money and want it, thats their choice, not a good one imo but to each their own. Then low end stuff for everyone. And it’s usually the lower Middle end that’s the best quality and value, like Savinelli.
I think this would resonate with a large amount of people though since music and books are pretty universal.I've paid more for a special edition of a book when I could have gotten the most important part the words for free (public domain). Or have spent money on an import of an album I already own because one of the tracks has different production then the American version of the same.
Please, please don't shatter my little unrealistic bubble......Very true. Sometimes people (me included) forget that a pipe is just that: a little piece of wood and rubber.
That's the point. The ones you care about know the rest are clueless.I think this would resonate with a large amount of people though since music and books are pretty universal.
A $5,000+ pipe would raise eyebrows, lower jaws, and incite laughter in 99.9% of the people on planet Earth. Haha.
