When we cook a sack ( 35 to 40 lbs ). I cook them in my big pot with strainer, I get the water 1/3 of the pot rolling with my Propane burner, I break several sacks of Zatarins crab boil , 1 or 2 of hot sauce Crystal, some jalapeño peppers, cut em up so seeds are exposed, some liquid crab boil, let it roll pretty good, put strainer in , dump sack , turn burner up, when it starts rolling, 6 minutes that's all. While it was rolling before I put strainer I threw in a bunch of halved potatoes, then before strainer goes in I take the spuds out , strainer , crawfish, potatoes back in. I've found out 6 min is the magic number, 2 sticks of butter for the shells to peel easier. I forgot to say I put corn on the cob in during the six min for the wife.
