This is so ridiculous, a waste of time, taxpayers money and education that could be used in other areas. They make me sick. I'm going to light up a bowl right now to relax.
Arise from the dead, ye thread of auld!
I popped into the corner-store to grab a pack of butts, and much to my dismay, was met with this new size, new format warning:
I just saw a "public service announcement" (read propaganda commercial) from the CDC on a cable channel. The same kind of "shock" material as was proposed on cig. packs. Besides the clips of those side-show losers, the spot ended with "A single cigarette harms your body". If it does, there is something VERY wrong with you.... cigarette or no cigarette, you are a goner PDQ.
Agreed, Jimbo! If one is so fragile that one smoke, or a single exposure to second hand smoke can be detrimental, then in any event, something else is bound to do you in tout suite.
Lets just call it what it is folks. We fought the nazis in ww2 and thought we defeted them but they have just been indoctrinating The youth in the collages and schools around the world knowing damn good and well these people would become leaders and they are still doing so. Its a battle for the minds of the masses to stop free thinking. When words didnt work they go for the fear factor when that dont work violence. Mark my words its comming the writing is on the wall for anyone smart enough to read it my friends.
The new Canadian pack ads take up over 3/4 of the pack now. I wanted to quit smoking many months before that, but that was the final nail in the cigs coffin. I was thinking of buying a cig case, but I said screw it because its just more money to do something I don't want to do anyway. I quit for over 3 months and never looked back. Cigs taste terrible now tbh.
I have been hearing about these labels for months now and I still have yet to see them!
It won't phase me for a second because if I want to smoke I will smoke. I know the risks, you don't have to post them on the box for me.
It may scare a few people but does the idea of overdosing, addiction, prison, money problems, along with other issues scare people away from hard drugs... NOPE!
I guess the government will do what it wants to do BUT SO WILL I MUTHA F@$*%&S! :nana:
"scary pictures" been on our packs for years...only once heard someone ask for a pack with a less objectionable picture ( pregnant woman smoking) ....it don't work...may even have an opposite effect on teens for the gross out effect.
The point is not to get anyone to stop. They don't want that. The worse they make it look the more they can tax, and eventually not medically treat saying" we told you so ". Not enough pipe smokers to specifically target yet. Got to fish in the best stocked pond first.
We've had those in Cana-duh for a long time, at first they were surgeon general warnings in writing, then pictures, then increasingly grosser pictures, and now picture warnings that cover 75% of the pack. They put them on every tobacco product. When the first picture warnings came out every store started selling pack covers to hide them, capitalism at it's finest.
People who smoke many years even won’t look at this picture. Who smoked - will be smoking.
Australians also use those terrible pictures on cigarette packs. But all the rest of the world smokes the same cigarettes with the ordinary packs for each brand http://247cigstore.com/cigarettes/marlboro/ .
