Horn Stems

Love my Ropp cutty with horn stem. Short smoke in a long pipe. Quite comfortable in the hand and the horn really jives with the aesthetic of the classic cutty. Highly recommend.

I love the look of horn but my one experience of it (a Ropp stout) wasn’t great but that’s because the bite zone was thick and narrow. I can imagine it would be just fine if were wider but I would also worry about how it would hold up to long term clenching.

I like how the clench of horn has a spring to it, it feels different from the usual suspects.

Lol, I know. I’m keeping finger crossed it’s there next month. I’ve had to set a budget, as this new found addiction is getting a bit out of hand. After this weekend I should have enough tobacco to last me several whiles. And hopefully find some new favorites. I also ended up with new meers as well. So strange.

I ordered 2 Ropp’s today. One Estate and one not. Both horn stems just to give them a go. Looking forward to trying horn. I’m a big fan of vulcanite so horn might be right up my alley.

I really like them! I wish the stems were a touch wider at the tip, just a different clench than my everyday. I’m getting used to that though. The material itself I like!
