We got hit pretty hard with the storms last night,(no major damage that a few hours of work wont fix), but man when I check the news, the folks down South got hammered, I hope all my friends here are ok and did not suffer damage or worse...

Please let us know that you are OK

Yes, some places here in Alabama got hit hard but my family (& home), friends, and co-workers are OK. Beyond that small circle of people, things change quickly.

Me and mine are safe. But, part of the county I live had to be evacuated cause of river going over flood stage. Just about flooded a civil war era surrender house.

It was a very strange and scary nite here in N.Carolina.There was trouble all around me yet for some reason I got almost nothing. Not even any rain to speak of.I don't know wheather to call it luck or something else. All I know is my family and I were plenty scared and I'm thankful that we're all ok.When these things happen there's always mixed feelings. You're very happy that you came through ok.You're also extremely sad for those who have had their lives turned upside down.

My sister is in Birmingham AL. They spent most of yesterday and last night in the basement. They were spared the worst of it though. Alabama got hammered hard as did other areas. Last I heard was over 200 dead and better than 1000 injured. Prayers for all of them and their families.
Here's a link for a map of reported tornadoes. 8O

It was heart-wrenching watching news accounts of all the lives lost, and the utter damage that has torn apart both families and communities. Let's hope for better times and calmer weather.

We got hit hard here in the DFW -- lots of hail damage, some tornado damage in another town nearby -- I personally like even the heaviest storms -- went out and watched the tornadoes as they came down one day of it.
Plus the weather has done wonders for our local economy (damage is big business).
Frankly I wish we had this kind of weather every year, its good for us.
