The Metal Mixtures ... Aiwass
This blend is a fun, spicy smoke. The Rum soaked Perique is balanced perfectly with the tangy Red Virginia. One may think that 50% Perique would be overpowering but this blend pulls it off. Every puff is sweet and spicy, becoming more peppery towards the bottom. I also thought that the Rum would be very strong but, after a little dry time, it plays a background role. This is a nice smoke for after a hearty meal. Kudos again!

Thank you for the review. Here's something that came my way:
House: Perdurabo

Blend: Had! The Manifestation of Nuit

Every number is infinite; there is no difference. The Book Of the Law
Named after the first line from The Book Of The Law, this Crowley-inspired blend mixes a strong Perique presence with a fortifying dose of Burley flavored with dark fired leaf and possibly a smidge of Latakia, creating a strong forward flavor which gives way while burning to an inner sweetness. It smells and tastes as if it is topped in bourbon and possibly black tea, and this gives it an aromatic flair without doing more than nudging the tobacco flavor in the right direction. Strong in Nicotine and robust in flavor, this blend reveals its inner dimensions and the synthesized flavors of Perique and Virginia burn through the wall of stout dark-fired and Burley leaf. The term "occult" means "hidden," usually as in knowledge, but in this blend a solid Va/Per is hidden within a tempest of tobacco power. Had! The Manifestation of Nuit smokes comfortably and would make a great all-day smoke.

House: DeathMetal

Blend: Prince Ludwig
The Name? This has to be a tribute to Prince Albert. I know Deathmetal loves the Prince, as far as OTC'S go. I really do picture a red Pouch with the bust of Beethoven dead center.
The pouch note is lovely. Burley with a topping of rum/molasses/vanilla/ maybe a bourbon instead of rum? I do not detect by sight or taste of virginias. So this is a 100% wide cut mahogany burley, very dark and hearty. Upon lighting, a strong earthy burley attacks like the 9th Symphony, it reminds me of the burley kick I get from BigNBurley. The topping comes across as vanilla and rum with molasses notes. I dried the sample till crispy, it comes slightly moist, so the topping probably would be stronger if I did not dry. I love this topping, with the dry time it still asserts itself but allows the burley to shine. It actually reminds me of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed or the Sutlif match. This is a perfect all day burley blend. Way bettter than Prince Albert, in fact the Albert could take a couple of lessons from Ludwig. I love these strong burleys, Prince Ludwig and I will court for a few days to see how we get on, I feel a lovely relationship blossoming. Thanks Deathmetal, you have a great blender's hand.
