Seems like one of these would be good for a 2x2 mold:Hopefully, someone else has this info and can correlate with my memory.
What I remember seeing in my searches is approximately 325 psi for flakes.
So, if you have a 4x4 mold that is 16 sq. inches:
16 sq. in. X 325 psi = 5200
5200 / 2000 (tons to pounds) = 2.6 tons (Making my 6 ton press overkill)
No, you have to use whole-leaf to make flakes. If you press ribbon, you'd get more of a crumble cake but what works really well for that is larger chopped pieces. Can the same be made from ready rubbed tobacco? I mean getting some good tinned tobacco and mixing it and then turning it to flake?
Agreed! That would be a nice smaller set-up. In order to use my 6-ton press, I'm having a larger 6x6 mold made and even then won't go "full press".Seems like one of these would be good for a 2x2 mold:
