Ive been spending cash on other stuff so nothing new here but I bet some of you got some goodies.

I got this Ashton (2023) xx Canadian from SP. Impulse buy, didn't have a Claret yet and both my other Craig Ashtons are great smokers. Honestly not a fan of this one so far. Don't mind the off center draft hole since the height is fine, but the stem really feels weird. The stem at the button is extremely thin to the point where it feels off. When I clench I can feel it bend and spring back. I've heard some complaints about recent Ashton stems elsewhere, hopefully it will improve. I'm sure it will smoke good or can be tamed into doing so. Who knows maybe I'll end up liking it.

I haven't gotten it yet but I bought my first churchwarden pipe off of ebay. It looks to be a very good condition Big Ben. I have high hopes for it but I guess I have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.

I bought 2 Neerups, 1 Randy Wiley, 2 cobs, 1 Stanwell POY (which got returned, and now the return is getting returned…), a few tins, and a lot of different 1oz bulk tobaccos to try out.

Oh, and a 12 pack of mason jars to star the 1oz samples in.

Just finished my first bowl for the new Ashton Claret. 1792 Flake smoked like it should. No break in funk, no overheating. Off center draft hole wasn't an issue at all. I can get used to the extra slim stem. Looking forward to seeing the finish chip away with age.

Been watching this Winslow for almost a year on SP. Knew it was massive (7in/6oz). Price finally dropped to my comfort point so pulled the trigger. Not sure if I'll smoke it but it sure is purty.
