Last week I bought a new Butz Choquin 'Origine' pipe, it is the churchwarden remake of the original one made in the 1800s.

While in the process of breaking-in, I noticed that it has a tiny hole in the shank. It is very tiny, however when I covered the bowl with my hand and blew in the pipe, I could see some moisture coming out the hole. It is not there on purpose and the pipe has been handled with much care.

Should I bring it back? I like it a lot but I am worried that hole, although tiny, will not do justice to the beautiful pipe I bought.

What do you think?

For those who wondered about the return of my pipe, my loyal tobacconist did not let me down. The lovely lady took it back and gave to me a new one, which she luckily had in store.
