Good thought you never know when pipe cleaners will be as scarce as balsa....
I keep them in the box when my gross arrives. I order them in bulk. Then I have a ceramic tumbler that I keep some by my smoking chair, and I have two leather pipecleaner cases, I keep one in my truck and one in my pipe bag.
the leather ones aren’t completely necessary, but it is a tad more stylish than just keeping them in the bag, or wagging a box of them around.

I use this wire desk top pen holder for all my pipe cleaners. Each compartment holds different types of pipe cleaners.

I leave them in the open plastic bag propped up between jarred tobacco, but come to think of it, a narrow throated tall vase might hold a good supply and splay them out for convenience in taking hold of one at a time.

Yep. I've had the experiences of finding the size and type I need out of stock, sometimes for weeks at a time, so this solves that problem. When doing a deep cleaning on a new-to-me estate it's no surprise to go through dozens of pipe cleaners, and one pipe took well over 100 before it was neutralized. If I ever really get serious about it, I'll keep a good 10,000 on hand, like a few pipesmokers that I know.

My wife is that way with pillows. If she likes them, she's getting them. Every time I want to sit down on a couch or get in bed, I have to fight my way through a battalion of pillows. I'm not afraid of the zombie apocalypse, I'm afraid of the pillow apocalypse.

I ran across this Gettelman Beer can/pencil holder on eBay a few years ago. Gettelman apparently was an old beer from Milwaukee, and & since I had lived in the Cream City for a few years I thought, "What the heck!"
It's functioned perfectly to keep my pipe cleaners at the ready.
Picked up this brass ashtray a few years back, the ashtray is at the front of the boot with a lift up lid, no idea what was meant to be kept in the boot opening (cigarettes maybe?) as it's too deep for normal size matches but makes a decent holder for pipe cleaners instead...

It looks like a spill vase, the bit under the lid would be for charcloth or vestas.
I keep a few bundles standing up in a mason jar. My overstock I just keep in a closet on a shelf.
I keep my cleaners in an antique Mettlach wine goblet. It has a hairline crack in it so it isn't worth much as a collectable. Sorry the pic is a little fuzzy, I'm not too good at this.
