Welcome, from another Californian!

You are an excellent writer, friend! And you have much to look forward to. I can't wait to read about your experiences as you explore this hobby!

I have family in Canada, not too far from you in Kitchener. And they were kind enough to gift me a pipe last Christmas in a shape called a "Canadian". I truly love it and will surely be enjoying it on July 1st 🇨🇦

Loll.... I just learned about the "Canadian" shape a couple of weeks ago and found it both flattering and funny that there's a specific shape named after the country.
Also, that is a marvelous, brilliant red color and marbling in the wood! Is it briar?

Welcome from a fellow Torontonian. I'm about a year ahead of you on this journey and would be happy to share some of my experiences with you. Buckle up though, it's a very addicting sport! DM me anytime. Also, a local B&M of mine in the west end has pipe events every now and then. Would be good to meet you and enjoy a smoke with some of the other pipe smokers here in Toronto.
Thanks JS! That sounds great and I'd love to take you up on that!

Yes It is Briar, and made by a Canadian company, Brigham. As I understand it, their pipes are no longer manufactured in Canada, but the company still maintains its headquarters just outside of the Toronto city limits in Etobicoke, ON. (Near Mississauga)

The "Canadian" Shaped pipe that I have is from their Heritage line (model #19).

They have an interesting history available on their website too...

Welcome from a fellow Torontonian! Glad to see another Canuck on here! You will find that pipe tobacco here in Canada is a huge ripoff!
I knowww.... I'm so glad I discovered SmokingPipes.com on "day 3" of my journey. I kinda feel sorry for not being able to "support local". But for 80% discount on the price... I don't see myself buying tobacco locally again anytime soon...

Wow! They are so beautiful! And the distillery system is interesting as well. Will definitely have to look into them more!

Thanks for the suggestion! I recently ordered BCA and have yet to try it, so RLP-6 will definitely go on my list next!
BCA is fantastic, good pickup for sure. Another RLP-6 clone by Lane is LL-7; I'm virtually unable to tell the difference in any way other than visually. So many blends, so little time! Just make sure to give ample dry time.
